The last time I watched a Japanese drama was in last year, Unubore Deka starred by Nagase Tomoya, Ikuta Toma and Nakashima Mika. It was about a detective who was so desperate for love that he falls in love with the criminals in the drama at first sight. Hehe...I just can't imagine Nagase being rejected outright by women because I mean looking at him, I don't think any woman would reject such a fine GQMF.

It was directed by Kudo Kankuro who is the genius behind Tiger & Dragon and Ikebukuro West Gate Park just to name a few. The quirkiness and wackiness of the drama was intact and I really liked the continuity of each episode. I think I should learn Japanese so that I can understand more what they really said in the drama. I feel that when I read the subtitles, the joke got kinda lost in translation. But I still get the joke with the helpful subtitles produced by the hardworking fansubbers. *Bows down to them*

And then, there's the dance of Unubore Deka. I am sure many of you who have watched the drama loved the randomness of the dances. Have you ever seen a detective who was about to arrest a criminal danced his way through it? The detective dramas I've seen were all being serious and cool, but this detective danced with the criminal on the verge of arresting them and even proposed to them. Being a Johnny's idol, Nagase knows how to strut his stuff. Sample this:

So basically, Unubore Deka is one of the dramas that everyone should watch because it is funny kinda black comedy drama with some romance thrown in between.
